Learn about the couple that shocked physicians by giving birth to twins, then triplets two years later, and now have five children under the age of five. The couple was warned by doctors that it was doubtful that they would ever be able to carry their own children. Nadia Sherwin, a 29-year-old full-time mother of five and part-time online instructor from Dallas, Texas, USA, always knew she wanted to have children. In 2012, she wed Robbie (32), and they began trying to have a child. Since they were both fit, young, and healthy, Nadia’s doctor became concerned after a year of trying to conceive naturally and requested some tests.
Nadia was found to have polycystic ovarian syndrome. She was probably not going to be able to carry her own kids. She began taking oral medication for 11 months, but it didn’t help and made her feel awful. Robbie and Nadia were happy to find that her body responded favorably to the injectable hormone and that she became pregnant just a month after they made the determined decision to try it.
The couple was thrilled to learn that she was carrying twins, Amari and Keona, who were delivered by C-section in January 2015 and weighed 5 lb 2 oz and 4 lb 3 oz, respectively. Nadia and Robbie decided they wanted a sibling for their kids after Amari and Keona were born. “We had a deep, unfathomable sense that each baby was intended to be here on Earth. God doesn’t make mistakes, therefore we live with confidence, stated Nadia.
Amazingly, Nadia and Robbie learned they were expecting within a month. However, they were surprised to learn they were carrying three babies at her ultrasound. They were given the option of selective reduction by doctors to ensure Nadia’s safety during the pregnancy, but they declined because they were certain to have three more healthy children. In April 2017, Mila, Colette, and Noah were delivered at 35 weeks and weighed approximately five pounds apiece.
The five children Nadia and Robbie are raising are all under the age of five, and when the entire family goes out, strangers are always thrilled to see them. Nadia claims that even though they are quite busy, they would never say no to having more children if the chance presented itself.
In order to enjoy their somewhat hectic life, the couple created family Instagram and YouTube pages. Since then, they have made connections with thousands of people all over the world. When we initially brought the triplets home, parenting five children under three was a true test of our ability to work together as a team. We must split and conquer some duties, but we also work as a team to do others, added Nadia. “I am aware that despite the fact that it can occasionally be stressful, it has only served to deepen our love for one another. If we were ever gifted with another kid, we would welcome the blessing wholeheartedly because we believe that everything in life happens for a purpose.
